The scanty remains of European "dignity"
Charles Krauthammer discusses the Bush "revisionism" that is running rampant in Europe today: to hear certain organs of the Euro-press tell it, they were "behind" Bush all along (Yeah...they were "behind" all right...). And what a joy it is to see the Euros bending over backwards to suddenly support the American position; it does not take a fool to see that the hope and optimism which is spreading throughout the Middle East is a direct result of the President's bold moves in Iraq and elsewhere.
Vindication is a sweet elixir, indeed. In my opinion, this President will be regarded by history as an even greater President than was Reagan. And that is saying a lot. But I believe this to be true because, if this revolution does take hold throughout the Middle East, which has been a bastion of ruthless dictators and barbaric practices since the beginning of the 20th century, it will trump even the accomplishment of spending the Soviet Union into oblivion. I hope there is room on Mt. Rushmore: it may be needed someday...
