Statesman or captain of the Titanic?
When I saw CNN rush to report the other day that the Volcker report exonerated Kofi Annan, I almost choked on my Diet Dr. Pepper. Because nothing could be further from the truth. The UN is rotten to its very core, and it starts at the very top. If there is any hope whatsoever to save this idealistic-in-principle-but-miserable-failure-in-practice institution, Kofi has to go, and soon. My suggestion for secretary General: Colin Powell. And even that may not be enough to save this sinking ship. (Hat tip: Media Lies)
