Microsoft: fighting the good fight AGAINST Democracy
What do the following phrases have in common:
- "Taiwan independence"
- "Dalai Lama"
- "human rights"
- "freedom"
- "democracy"
If you guessed: these are the words that Microsoft's new software MSN Spaces is blocking from any Chinese bloggers on the behalf of the "People's Republic," you would win the grand prize: the right to stand in front of a rolling tank in Tiennemen Square.
Like Dick Durbin, Bill Gates has reached a new low. But hey, he's a billionaire, he NEEDS the money -- and these billions of Chinese, longing to have the freedom of speech he flaunts every day...who cares about them?
Keep this in mind next time you watch Microsoft "Connecting the World" advertising garbage. Think instead: "Microsoft: bringing the thought police to your neighborhood soon."
