Power Line: Iraqi jihadists rig childrens dolls to explode
An Iraqi girl looks at US soldiers from 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment after receiving a puppet given by them while patrolling a neighborhood (from Agence France Presse)
I would like for someone on the left to explain away the utter depravity of this--and furthermore why our news media is doing its very best to add to the success of these monsters by advocating US withdrawl from Iraq. From John Hindraker of Power Line:
The depravity of our enemies is hard, sometimes, to grasp fully. Today's news includes this reminder of why there is no alternative to victory in the war against Islamic terrorism:
The Iraqi army said on Thursday it had seized a number of booby-trapped children's dolls, accusing insurgents of using the explosive-filled toys to target children.
The dolls were found in a car, each one containing a grenade or other explosive, said an army statement.
The government said that two men driving the car had been arrested in the western Baghdad district of Abu Ghraib.
"This is the same type of doll as that handed out on several occasions by US soldiers to children," said government spokesperson Leith Kubba.
There are many Americans who don't believe that it is a good thing for us to kill these people wherever they congregate, which, for the moment, at least, is in Iraq. For the life of me, I can't understand why.
Nor can I. Where are the people of conscience and decency in this country--and I am speaking specifically to those in the oppostition party who are exploiting Iraq for polling points while vermin like this continue to target children specifically for propaganda value in order to advance their anti-American agenda and 9th century woman-hating religious megalomania.
Meanwhile organs of "objective news" like New York Times, CBS, and CNN seems to be vastly more concerned about the words "Under God" in the Pledge or "In God We Trust" on paper money, or on bald faced lies they continue to propogate on behalf of Joe Wilson and his "look at me" wife.
Menawhile, the Bush haters, the Michael Moore's and the MoveOn crowd, in their zealotry to undermine the war efforts of the elected United States Government, four short years after 9/11--no matter what the consequences to innocents like these little girls in Iraq--have in my mind just as much blood in their hands in the senseless slaughter of innocents like the little girl pictured above as do the Islamofascists who plan the atrocities themselves. The sooner that the broader American public understands this dynamic; i.e. that it sees through the utterly transparent "partisanship without conscience" of its own news media--and the damage it is doing to a nation at war with depraved sociopaths--the better off all of us will be.
Meanwhile, I have a question for all of you who fit into this "cut and run" crowd. Have a look at that photo above of the little girl in Iraq, and ask yourself this question: how can you look at yourself in the mirror each morning? Are you proud of yourselves?
