Ann: Read Our Lips....SHUT UP
In the wake of their monumental screw-up last November, the last thing the Conservative movement and the Republican party needs is a female David Duke pouring gasoline on an already raging-out-of-control media firestorm against the War, the Presidency, Republicans, and the very notion of American Exceptionalism. While Ann's past writings have shown a tremendously sharp wit and mind, and a grasp of many important issues, she nevertheless has demonstrated recently what I will call borderline Tourette's Syndrome when it comes to her apparent need to push the envelope of acceptable political discourse.
Free speech is well and good, but when a high-profile spokesperson for the movement uses references like this on a national stage--alienating millions of voters needlessly and giving our enemies grist for their elitist propaganda mill--it demonstrates that Coulter has such serious problems with her sense of judgment, she cannot be trusted to continue in such a high-profile role. John Edwards truly does have few redeeming qualities that I can see, but Coulter's hyperbole is now officially a huge liability at a time when there is frankly way too much at stake. Calling out the widows who exploited 9/11 was one thing--but this latest gaffe tells me it is time for the Conservatives to cut their losses with Ann Coulter.
