Earth to Washington Post: "shedding blood for other people's liberty" necessarily implies that if you or your country is repelling an invasion or occupation of your own homeland, it doesn't count (examples: Russia and France in WWII). What does count in when your own sons and daughters are shedding blood to liberate other countries (e.g. American blood shed to save Russia and France from the Nazis...). Got it?

The Washington Post: Demeaning authentic American sacrifice and championing the worldwide cause célébré of taking America for granted. Nice going, guys.
