UPDATE: Apologies for changing my post so drastically. But after thinking about it, my anger about how little Europe supports the United States (especially considering we liberated Western Europe from the Nazis and protected from the Soviets for over 50 years )--is not really responsible for NATO's predicament in Afghanistan. The decision not to go after the poppy crop with a vengence is the problem, all right; but I was mistaken in my earlier inference that decision necessarily had anything to do with NATO. So I changed my post. My apologies, but I like to be able to live with what I put out here.
Anyway, there will be other occasions to rant about the ungrateful Euro-socialists. But this is not one of those times.
