The Sliming Begins
I do not know if all the sleazy rumors are true or not. My guess is that this particular rumor probably isn't. But who cares? There is plenty of corruption associated with Hillary (and her loving husband...) already, without giving undue attention to titillations like this one. My own take is that this particular path is fraught with danger--mostly of pissing off the electorate. Republicans would be wise to steer clear. What is most interesting about this rumor is that the culprit is as likely a Democrat (my guess is someone in Edwards' campaign) as any other alternative.
Unfortunately, it appears that no one is getting out of this election without getting dirty. It's a shame, but after the hyper-partisan hysteria of the left in the last 8 years, it is hardly unexpected that next year will be one of the slimiest and bitterly fought American elections in its history.
