We Win. They Lose. Isn't how it is Supposed to Work?

A great find from the always-on-top-of-his-game Don Surber:

Fareed Zakaria of Newsweek noted that a new poll by his magzine showed only 19 percent say Iraq will most influence their choice for president. That’s way down and falling.

The reason is America is succeeding in Iraq.

Zakaria admits it. Sorta, writing: “Gen. David Petraeus’s new strategy is working, though not exactly for the reasons initially advertised.”

And later Zakaria wrote: “That meant cozying up to Sunni tribesmen, even those with shady pasts.”

Oh gosh. We cannot do that.

Please, do not tell Zakaria about the deal we cut with Josef Stalin to win World War II.

Look for the cut-and-run crowd to try to have it both ways. After demanding we leave immediately no matter what the consequences are to the Iraqi people (see the Genocide Happens editorial in the July 8 NYT), they will now demand the United States deal only with squeaky clean politicians in Baghdad.

Yes, clean like George Soros who was convicted of insider trading. Clean like Norman Hsu. Peter Paul. Marc Rich.
