Pelosi's Deafening Silence

Even the NYT-owned Boston Globe gets it. From a PR perspective, game over:
It now seems clear that top Democratic leaders like Pelosi knew about the policy, and chose not to challenge it.

After participating in the secret briefings, Pelosi apparently saw little way to change course until Democrats took control of Congress and the White House. Still, it would be nice to see if CIA notes on those confidential briefings showed her at least raising private doubts about those techniques.

The country should have access to all explanatory memos and other backup information about the interrogation policy. That way Americans will know exactly what Bush officials were thinking and what lawmakers - Republicans and Democrats - were told. The country needs to hear the truth.
And that goes for the results of those interrogations too, including the attacks prevented and estimates of lives saved.

The bottom line is that the Dems (nor our President) still don't get it about the fanaticism of our enemies and the mindset we are up against.

BHO has apparently told Netanyahu that he his on his own with the Iranian zealots. I hope Bibi has the guts to do what must be done. If so, and if Obama abandons Israel completely as many predict he would, his re-election is doomed. I think he would (reluctantly) have to cave to Israel.

Bibi needs to call his bluff... and the sooner the better--before all this health care and cap and tax nonsense gets too far along.
