Iran Testing Surface to Surface Missiles during "War Games"
Any one of the following items is troubling; but when you put them all together, it really makes you wonder if all of the predictions about August 22 really do have merit:
UPDATE: Of course many people would just prefer to hide their heads in the sand and pretend this isn't happening.
- Evidence shows that Iran has acquired over the last 11 years sophisticated missile technology from Russia, China, and North Korea
- Ahmadinejad declares his intention to "wipe Israel off the map"
- Under intense international pressure, Iran defiantly states that it will never abide by the UN Security Council mandate to stop enriching uranium for its nuclear weapons program; instead it says it will expand these efforts
- Ahmadinejad's pronouncements about August 22 create a stir in the blogosphere, intelligence circles, and even inspired esteemed Islamic scholar Bernard Lewis to write this in the Wall Street Journal
- North Korea defiantly conducts multiple missile tests on the 4th of July, with Iranians reportedly in attendance
- Iran begins extended War Games yesterday--three days before August 22--which it calls " 'Blow of Zolfaghar', in reference to a sword that belonged to Imam Ali, one of the most revered figures of Shia Islam - ... designed to show that Tehran is standing up to the superpower. "Our army is ready to defuse all plots against the Islamic Republic of Iran..."
- North Korea (coincidentally?) seems to be preparing for a Nuclear test any day now
- Iran as of this morning has launched at least 10 surface to surface missile tests as a part of its "war games"
UPDATE: Of course many people would just prefer to hide their heads in the sand and pretend this isn't happening.
