Deja Hsu: Hillary backtracks on keeping all that tainted money; now she seems to ask 'Hsu Knew'?
In one fell swoop, Hsu revived memories of the 1996 campaign and the fundraising scandal involving Chinese influence. The last thing Hillary needed was a reminder of the scandals that surrounded her husband, especially one that involved foreign governments potentially corrupting an American presidential election. Now, though, we know why Hillary and her team showed so much reluctance to return the money. Hsu's fundraising for Hillary had earlier been estimated at around $150K, but the near-million figure gives a much better indication of the scale Hsu's efforts reached. It puts a dent in Hillary's liquidity at a time when she'll want to start ramping up advertising efforts. However, her money advantage will remain quite secure even with the 2% loss.
It makes it even more important to find the source of Hsu's funds. Who wanted to put that kind of money into Hillary's campaign, and why? Someone expected to profit from this scheme, and it apparently wasn't the com man who ran it.
Exactly. When you have spent your entire post-collegiate life in the midst of one of the slimiest, most corrupt political machines in American history, it can become hard to detect an isolated source of stench--even if Hillary was not involved in creating the stench herself. A pig insulated by a hazmat suit is still a pig...and any pig will always gravitate to the muck.

China bans Buddhas' Reincarnation without first getting permission from the State
This is a pretty good statement about state socialism: its unceasing quest to control the every movement of its citizens is now extending its reach beyond the grave to even barring the Almighty from crossing the Chinese Government; don't be surprised to see the Chinese pass similar laws for Vampires and Zombies soon.
Meanwhile, Don Surber wonders how in the world (or out of it) are the Chinese going to enforce this new law...

Protectionist Dems: About to commit Economic Suicide
Like it or not, the US Economy is joined at the hip with China. You can't hurt one without hurting both. It's too bad the protectionist left is so incredibly short-sighted.
Is it 2008 yet?

Pig epidemic in China kept under wraps
The "Great Wall" of China still exists--the one that blocks its own Citizens from reading whatever they want to read--which in this case may be putting their lives at risk. And because of this veil of secrecy, we may be at risk and not even know it.
(Hint: the Chinese won't find out about the epidemic from here: The Discerning Texan continues to be banned in China. Go figure.)

The GOOD News about the Stock Correction UPDATED: And the not so good news
And yes, I think this little stock correction drove that point home quite nicely.
UPDATE: Stratfor is claiming that the entire thing was engineered by the Chinese. Even if true, the unintended spread of the correction to worldwide markets does server to drive home to the meddling Chinese government the high price of interference with free markets. They are learning that they can no longer make decisions in a vaccum.

What IS Korean for "Sucker"?
James Robbins reflects the disbelief of many in the conservative blogosphere. Does he have a point? Time will tell. But I must say the Koreans' track record at keeping their sacred "word" has been abysmal.
